CO-FOUNDER, CEO & DIRECTOR
Frederick has honed his keen entrepreneurial skills, vast background in finance, contacts throughout the business community and experience within the industry since 2013. Prior to stakehorsing the seed investment in GAIA, Frederick oversaw the establishment and expansion of the Green Room as a leader in medical cannabis supply, industry best practices and education about the cannabis industry itself. Leading by example, he plans to continue to prioritize public safety and work with all levels of government as they navigate how to regulate the growing and sale of cannabis both domestically and internationally.
JAMES C. TWOREK
CO-FOUNDER, PRESIDENT & DIRECTOR
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Mr. Tworek has worked in Banking and Finance for the past 23 years, having started in commercial banking from 1998 until 2005, and later working as a partner in a mortgage brokerage with an in-house small-cap commercial development fund for 7.5 years. In 2015, Mr. Tworek founded a boutique Corporate Finance Consulting firm, helping clients with business start-up activities, source investment capital, joint-venture development and other corporate finance activities.
James has always been an avid athlete, participating in martial arts, track and field and snow sports. He has worked in the Canadian Medical Cannabis sector since 2016, which has educated him of cannabinoid-based solutions for his recovery regime and he quickly became an eager proponent of them.
In addition to his roles and responsibilities at GAIA, Mr. Tworek is the CEO of Element79 Gold Corp (CSE:ELEM) and a Director of Florence One Capital Corp, a private company working towards its listing as a Capital Pool Company on the TSXV. He also sat as an Independent Director and Member of the Special Committee of Nabis Holdings Inc. (CSE:NAB) from September 2020 to January 2021, and sat as an Independent Director of Robix Environmental Technologies Inc. (CSE:RZX) from December 2018 to October 2020. He is currently pursuing an eMBA program. James strives to uphold open communication, honesty and integrity with all teammates and stakeholders.
CFO, DIRECTOR & BOARD MEMBER
Marc A. Lowenstein joined Fric Lowenstein in 2015 after completing his law degree at Bond University in Australia. Before law school, Marcspent more than 10 years in the construction industry in various positions ranging from a labourer, foreman, superintendent up to a Project Engineer for a large heavy civil construction company.
Marc has worked as a National Construction Safety Officer and consultant where he built, implemented and supervised health and safety programs for companies in the construction industry. Marc is focusing his practice on real estate and matters relating to construction including contracts, litigation and dispute resolution.
Marc also recently joined the ADR Institute of Alberta and is working towards becoming a Qualified Arbitrator (Q. Arb.).
